女主角婚礼前老公跑了，竹马陪她去度蜜月的地方散心，在海边女主角渐渐发现自己内心。

故事以非线性叙述的型式展开，现在的海边落魄新娘和贴心好友，八岁时古灵精怪的青梅和安静害羞的竹马，二十岁时野心勃勃的新晋厨师和杂志编辑，与散文诗一般的海岸景色描写交汇在一起，给了我在夏天的一个雨天里接近完美的阅读体验。

Carley Fortune的书有两个很突出的优点，第一是绝美的景色描写，第二个就是感情浓烈，作者可能属于那种所有人类感情都能用文字表达出来的天才。
